School club Initiation day

Today was a rather interesting day, I went to the main campus entrance(in front of the main library). The main road was full of club booths.

NTU has over 1080 clubs, which was a shock to me. Of course not all were present, although they are all accessible through the PPT "forum" (a very old Linux based forum students use for absolutely everything. Those who use it are in the loop of everything, those that don't, like me well are out of the loop).

The average clubs I found were classical chinese instrument clubs.

Also martial arts clubs like Kendo, Karate, and Judo (Some actually performed on stage for the students). Taekwondo was also present.

Just for the heck of it, there were sports clubs also. The NTU Rugby team was present, archery team, golf team, fencing team and others.

Here's my roommate Jordon from UC Davis signing up for the Rugby team.

Some of the more interesting clubs I would not have imagined seeing were The Tango club, poker cub, belly dance club, and a "survival club - dude's in full militia gear complaining that the Taiwan gov won't let them use real firearms", and

Yeah I think the Tango dancer was a bit sexy, I guess I'm a sucker for girls in nice dress and cute face.

This is the "survival club"
Belly dance cub
The geek club. I have no idea what the real club name is, but the photo says it all.

Tap dance club
Poker club using both Asian mahjong and western chips.

By far the most unexpected was the safe sex education club whom were handing out free "finger condoms". Their goal as a club is to promote safe sex and educate students about sexually transmitted diseases, and also better sex yaddy yaddy blah blah blah.

Yup, Jordon loved this booth the most.

Now off to the gym to think over which club I will join....
