Exhibit and last drinks with Amy - 05/15/11

This day I met up with Anita and Evan in Shilin for an exhibition.

The exhibition consisted of national geographic photographs, they were very depressing so I decided not to snap any for the exception for this one. A picture of couch surfing travelers in NYC. My god, what a shoe box.

Afterwards we went to Dunhua area for some last drinks with Amy.

The interior was really nice. Their wine selection was decent also.

The last pic of us together.

The top of Social Science and a treat - 5/11/11

I met up with a friend , Katherine, for a nice little treat.

Saltine ice cream sandwich. It's saltine crackers with vanilla ice cream in the middle. Only $14.00 TWD.

It was addicting after the second bite. The first bite was a little weird.

Then we went to the top of the Social Science building. Boy it was really nice.

We were able to see the farm on campus and even farther.

Then the sun started to set, and you bet I snapped even more pic's.

Katherine taking in the spectacular view.

At the end of the day I met up with my friend from San Diego, Kara. She's posing with her new perm. haha (actualy it's a wig a friend brought.)

Long Shan temple 05-09-11

Well fast forward to May.
(March did not hold anything special except study my tail off in the library.)

I went with Pauline and Iva to LongShan Temple.

On the way there we came across this fellow with OG mustache. So I had to snap a picture.
The temple was really big with it's own artificial waterfall.

Here is a video of the temple. Long Shan Temple Vid01

The detail on almost everything in the temple was spectacular. For instance this pillar had more dragons and animals that I could count.

Behind were more gods to pray to. I was told what each one represented, practically every aspect of your life including study can be remedied by prayed to a specific god.

After the temple the three of us headed to the night market. And wow was it long.

The market had the usual things that any other market would have.

This is actually normal, entire family using a scooter to commute. I've even seen two dogs riding where the kid is.

random weird poster, beer and non-conventional medical treatment.
Then the shops started getting a bit weird.

Snake meat and blood shot's for sale.

Sex oriented shop sailing it's wares. Two older women in their 40s were discussing the usage of a particular model of the below item pictured.

What I ended up buying was an electric mosquito/fly swatter. Looks like a plastic tennis racket but with a three layer metal mesh. the racket was rechargable for $100 TWD ~ $3.50 USD.

I love the racket, mosquitoes literally burst into flames when zapped.

Yangmingshan Trip - 2/27/11

In February Evan, Anita, Amy and I went to Yangming Shan to see the cherry blossoms. It was really nice, and Amys camera was even nicer. The pictures I was able to take OMG. If I were able to afford that camera I would be a photographer over night.

On the way there, I passed by the grand hotel that had some scenes shot from the famous movie 飲食男女 by Ang Lee

and 一一 by Edward Yang.

This is one of the pictures taken with Amy's camera.

Also another picture using Amy's camera.

Here we are the fantastic four.

Having a deep discussion with Evan....who is the most beautiful Taiwanese girl. Like I said, dead serious conversation, Evan had to use his digital resources to seal his argument.

Anita and Amy happy to wait in a very long line haha
